The first step in preparing the soil for planting is leveling the terrain. This allows for the drainage of water in winter and prevents water stagnation in micro-depressions, which negatively affects the root system. Then, deep plowing (60 – 90 cm depth) is performed. The furrow must be narrow, 25 – 35 cm, to easily achieve the appropriate depth.
Peaches are grafted onto rootstocks of several types of fruit: peaches, almonds, peach-almond hybrids, plums, and apricots. The greatest compatibility exists with peach rootstocks.
